A friend of mine posted this video on Facebook over the weekend. Thought it was pretty clever so I am borrowing it for today's Muse.
"Piano Stairs"
How true that we're motivated mostly by what's fun. Deep down, we're like little kids when it comes to stuff like this. (Remember that scene with Tom Hanks in Big?) I try to take the stairs as much as I can, especially in the subway since it's great exercise, but I'm often in a rush or too exhausted or carrying too much crap to bother. Something creative and clever does slow you down and remind you that the mundane can be transformed into something totally enjoyable.

That's awesome! And inventive.
I used to get off the train at 53rd and Lex for work, in NY. The stairs there were about fifteen miles long. No one wanted to go near them. Apart from some crazy assed people. It would be awesome on days the escalators were broken to see people's expressions when they realized they had to use the stairs. Some would walk about four blocks to the other end of the station just to use the other escalator rather than tackle those behemoths. :)

Love that! Now if only someone could make the check out line in the grocery store more fun. The magazines help...but I don't know if I'd call that "fun."
How cool! Of course, I can't play piano so I would be wondering if every step I take was the right note. :-)

I try to take the stairs whenever possible. In fact, was at Children's Hospital with my son yesterday, and remembered my months living there... I always took the stairs... it helped keep me sane.
What couldn't use a fun makeover? I would definitely take the stairs if they made music.

That's pretty funny that so many people walked on the stairs just because they were painted. I usually always take the stairs vs the escalator since I'm claustrophobic and riding up a set of moving stairs with someone's ass in my face isn't appealing.
